    Hi all,

I am after some suggestions on a 37" LCD Screen for use in our living room.
We have between 1500-1800 quid to spend on one.

What we are looking in one is:

    1. Min x1 HDMI connection
    2. Black surround as a border to the screen
    3. Small speakers on bottom of screen, although SIDE Speakers would be pref (like Hitachi 37LD6200)
    4. HD Ready

    I welcome all your comments...

    Thanks,
    Graeme

Apart from the "HD Ready" part as it's only HD compatible the Sharp Aquos LC37P50E would meet your criteria.

I am looking at 37 inch models aswell... I have so far narrowed it down to the Toshiba 37WLT58 or the JVC37DS6.... both of these fulfill your criteria and both have their admirers - I woud suggest you try to see both in the flesh (I haven't managed to see them both in the same shop) and then decide - goodluck.

The JVC is the only one with a black surround, but the Tosh is very discreet too and worth checking out.

Yep - the gunmetal grey on the Toshiba is actually not too bad in the flesh - personally I think the JVC looks a bit nicer though - its all subjective...

P.S. I should have put in my earlier post that the Tosh is not a true black frame apologies and cheers to Richard for clarifying :)

JVC is a great performer, the frame isnt 100% black though its, very, very, VERY dark titanium-ish, looks black when watching though.

Unfortunately running HD through it is the reason it looks great. I saw the same when looking for a plasma in JL - the LG had a wonderful picture but none of the other sceens were using HD!
