Depends on if you are talking about the features or the faults.

If you mean the bright edges with darker vertical bars then these are a 'feature' of the tube used and the new version will be using EXACTLY the same tube.

The new batch (the famous q model) have the following changes:

Updated tuner to allow for different broadcast standards across europe.

    A new teletext chip

    A new remote

    And thats it.

Frankly I would wait and see

They are hardly like to list things like...

'*Fixes annoying light bands that existed on previous models '

...on the new Q models specification.

That would be like admitting there was a problem!

I would imagine the fixes will be there but they wont be mentioned anywhere. Time will tell.

The only faulty that has been fixed is the teletext one.
The rest of the issues mentioned are not faults.
The lighter sides, dark patches, hite glaring etc are features of the set; other issues mentioned like some people experiencing power hum etc are just on some sets, you can get this with any manufacturer of Tv, sony, philips etc,it is not a fault with a particular model it is just fact you will get variations form a production line environment, if yours is a particularly loud one you just have to arrange a replacement.

There seems to be a huge expectation of the Q models.
As has been mentioned in other threads there is no real difference between the Q model and previous versions.
