    Hello folks,

A question for those who have already done it succesfully.
I’ve entered in the service menu, last evening, trying to correct some geometry problems in my 36PD30, but stopped at once as I found the following lines below the firmware:

    Flash Program
    Ext >> TV
    E2 Program
    TV >> Ext
    Ext >> TV

Before I do something wrong, which is the correct menu to enter?
Each of the three sub-lines bring to the same series of parameters that can be varied, but which is the right line? Flash or E2? Anf if E2, which one?

    Thanks in advance

just press the green teletext button. That will take you into the items:-

The left 2 teletext buttons (red, green) cycle through the items; the right 2 (yellow, blue) change values. When you have finished changing a value press STR (under the flap) or it will be reset once you move to the next item. (red/black text shows if item value has been edited or not). When you have finished all, press N under flap to exit menu.

One tip: - entering the service menus resets the picture settings (contrast, brightness etc.) for the input+mode combination (eg. AV1+Cinema) you're currently in to it's defaults - so if you want to preserve your settings, change to an unused combination first. ;)

Another quick question regarding the PD30 Service Menu?

Although it's similar to my old Panny of some years ago (PF10), there are a few newbies that I'm not too sure about. If any of you guys out there have any experience of the PD30's service menu adjustments would you mind sharing your knowledge on what the below settings are/do and if you've adjusted them with safety:-

    V-S Correct
    C-Correct
    H-DAF Phase
    Video Gain 2
    SPL Gain
    SDRAM-F

    My sincere thanks in advance:smashin:

V-S Correct - adjusts the vertical "stretching"
    C-Correct - don't remember this
H-DAF Phase - adjusts focus, left vs. right side
Video Gain 2 - adjusts brightness of 2nd tuner in PAP screen
SPL Gain - doesn't seem to do anything
    SDRAM-F - don't remember this either

I've definitely changed all the ones I can remember, with no ill effects. The fact that the value resets to the previously set one if you move off the item using red/green teletext keys without pressing STR can be useful if you forget what the original value was ;)

    OK,

thank you so much for the tips, very appreciated.
But let me explain better what I mean and let’s see if understand you right.

There are 3 sub-menus that can be entered and each of them contains the same set of parameters (H Pos, V Pos etc.) that can be tweaked.
But which is the correct sub-menu? Or does one have to enter each of them and repeat the same tweaks?

Upon entering the service menu, the first way to the parameters is:

    Flash Program
    Ext >> TV

Lemon, by pressing the green button do you suggest to enter this menu and skip the two others under the E2 Program?

    Thanks again for the help

    I don't know :)

I haven't tried selecting anything from the first menu - I just press green as soon as the service menu is shown.

If anybody knows better I'd be interested to find out though...

Thanks a bunch Blindlemon, adjusted the above with safety.

P.S. I reckon the "C-Correct" adjusts 'corners' a little more uniformly. As for SDRAM, haven't a clue.

C-Correct bows the entire picture to the left or right. Making it like a 'C' shape if taken to the extreme.
