360 with PJ & 2.1 speakers question please.

My son currently has a 360 in his bedroom connected to a LCD TV.
I have a HD projector which I was going to put in his room and connect it to the 360 via the MS component cable or possibly get the MS VGA cable (so I can connect a DVD player via component to the PJ). This then leaves the question of sound. I only have one 5.1 surround sound kit which is being used downstairs. I do however have a 2.1 speaker set which I originally purchashed for my PC but no longer use. It has a 3.5mm mini-jack (male) cable that connects it to a PC. Is it possible to use this to output the sound from the 360 (or a DVD player)? Would I need a female 3.5mm Jack to a female phono cable adapter? Do they exist?

If anyone can suggest a good way of connecting a Xbox 360, a HD projector, a DVD player and a 2.1 speaker set up with a 3.5mm mini-jack (male) cable, I would appreciate any suggestions.:):)

:lease:

I am assuming that the cable from your speakers is fixed and cant be removed other wise if it does you cold just get one cable which would be neater

Yes, the cable that comes from the 2.1 speakers is a fixed 3.5mm jack cable that can't be removed.

Thanks : )
