I've been using the MS official adapter for a while now and it has worked flawlessly. That would be my recommendation to you!

There wouldn't be much in it to be honest.

If it were me, I'd probably make the decision based on price. But, that said, if there wasn't much in it, I'd have the official one...

Unrelated (maybe) but Sordid, where you having problems last night? You were bouncing on and off for ages?

On Topic: I've had the MS wireless thingy for ages. Works fine. Once in a blue moon (3 months of so) it won't link up, but a quick unplug/replug or reboot fixes that.

Was playing hard wired last night :) was having a bit of bother though, not sure whether it was Live ('cos I was downloading a lot of videos) or my router. Router probably, it's a hunk 'o' junk.

Ah, right.

It's just normally when I see people bouncing like that its due to a RRoD.

Wireless bridges can be a right pain to set up, it depends how good their interface firmware is.

You usually have to plug them into your router wired initially, and sometimes you manage to get the same IP address assigned to the wired side of the bridge and the wireless side which really freaks the entire network out (two pieces of equipment with the same IP address error messages popup everywhere). But once set up mine have worked flawlessly for ages now.

I had had wireless pretty much since launch and was very pleased with it. However I recently moved my bedroom around (where the router is) which killed the signal strength.

So as an alternative I bought some 'PowerPlugs'. Devolo 200mbps to be precise.

So far I have been very pleased with them. Extremely easy to set up, check the forums for more info on these.
I use media centre a lot so streaming content is a major point for me. I now get all greens bars on my network test as opposed to 1-2 green flickering into orange occasionally. If you have media centre you'll know what I mean.
The only extra consideration with Powerplugs is that they recommend that they have their own socket. i.e. Try not to use with a 4 way extension unit.
Having said that I am not sure if it makes any difference as I haven't needed to try it. One last thing if you do look at these, look at the boxes carefully especially if you go to somewhere like PC World. Some box only contain 1 Powerplug which would be use to extend your network. Other are the slower 80mps and therefore cost less. Make sure you get a box with 2 adapters! I was going to go for Netgear as I have one of their routers but their Powerplugs were extremely expensive £120+
:)

Don't have to plug this one into your router which is handy :D took me about 2 minutes to get going via my pc. Just have to set it to client and it'll scan for your AP and you get to input your WEP/WPA/WPA2 code, after that's all setup set the IP to automatic and you're done :smashin: (assuming you use DHCP on your router!)

Sounds better setup than the cheapo ones I currently use.
Thanks for the info, I'll get one of those next time I need one :smashin:

Is the aerial replacable, I usually use higher gain external aerials ?

Need one for the 360 and the other for my slingbox.
