OK I've got the ring of red lights tonight and have phoned M$ and they are sending DHL to pick it up etc.

My question is has anybody actually been back to the retailer and asked for them to replace the 360 as under the sale of goods act your contract is with the retailer.

Help.

I believe several people on here have taken their console back to where they bought it but you may have to wait before you get a replacement depending on whether the store actually has any stock.

If the store has stock, and I suggest you ask them before you explain your problem, then they have to replace or refund if the goods are faulty. Your contract is afterall with them, not M$

the above all happened last night and after loads of messing i.e remove leads, unplug hard drive etc I couldn't resolve the problem, but this morning the 360 has switched on OK. Do I still seek a replacement or what??

If your sure it's not just over heating then I'd replace it.
I purchased from Curry's and they exchanged for another unit with no problems at all.
Good luck.

phoned GAME to make sure they had stock of 360 Premiums, I turned up with my old knackered one and quoted the 79 Sale of Goods Act to them and hey presto mine was replaced within seconds.

No need to wait the 10 days for M$ to uplift and replace.

Mine has crashed 4 times since Dec 1st, seems too much hassle to replace it. I think it also always happened on PGR3, which I haven't played for a few weeks since playing COS2 online.

Where's the hassel is walking back into the retailer and getting a replacement

Imagine the hassel you'll have if yours does become faulty once the warranty expires :suicide:

I know I have another 9 months on the warranty, it hasn't crashed for about 3 weeks, and hopefully if I do get a replacement, it will have a quiet DVD drive.
The hassel is disconnecting everything and driving 20 miles to the shop.
