Came across this in my inbox this am-

    http://go.reuters.co.uk/newsArticle.jhtml?type=technologyNews&storyID=9852202&src=eDialog/GetContent

All about what games will be available at launch-

"Microsoft has said it expects 15 to 20 games on the market for the North American roll-out of its next-generation game player on November 22, and has promised to reveal the full roster in coming weeks....

Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. is shooting to have five games ready for the Xbox 360 debut, a spokesman said.

Best known for its controversial but wildly successful "Grand Theft Auto" franchise, Take-Two said its launch titles are basketball game "NBA 2K6," hockey game "NHL 2K6," tennis game "Top Spin 2," snowboarding game "Amped 3" and "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion," a role-playing game.

Activision has four Xbox 360 launch titles on its list. They are World War II game "Call of Duty 2," action game "Quake 4," extreme sports title "Tony Hawk's American Wasteland" and

    "GUN."

EA, the world's biggest video game publisher, on Monday said it will have five titles out in time for the launch. They are the racing game "Need for Speed Most Wanted," its "FIFA 06: Road to FIFA World Cup" soccer title, basketball game "NBA Live 06," golf game "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06" and "Madden NFL 06."

A THQ Inc. spokesman said the company has two launch window titles for the Xbox 360: urban action game "Saint's Row" and "The Outfit," a World War II-inspired game.

Microsoft this week confirmed that the action-adventure game "Kameo: Elements of Power" and "Perfect Dark Zero," both from game developer Rare, will be shipping at launch.

"Project Gotham Racing 3" from independent game studio Blizzard Creations also should be in stores, Microsoft said"

Some great titles in there!!!! Mind overload...too many games....not enough time!!!!!

Good point AML, there aren't any Ubisoft titles on there. I would take this list as a minimum really, all those titles are looking to make launch (though I'm a bit dubious about FIFA). It may well be more are added.

Still, it's a very good list to start with, a hell of a lot better than the PS2 and Xbox launch.

    I've decided on getting:

    Call of Duty 2
FIFA 06: Road to the World Cup
    Perfect Dark Zero
    Project Gotham Racing 3
    Top Spin 2

Should keep me happy over Christmas :)

Well, if you ask the register only 8 games are confirmed for launch date with more to be announced for launch BEFORE Xmas - not for launch date!

    http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/10/07/enews_xbox/

3 from Blizard and 5 from EA.

I draw your attention to this line in the article

"However, the company is due to announce more titles over the coming weeks and it is expected that between 15 and 20 games will be available to purchase by Christmas."

At least, this is "The Registers" take on a news release they have

I'm pretty set on getting call of duty 2, PGR3 and Kameo so as long as they're available on launch day I'll be smiling (assuming, that is, I get my 360 on launch day!)

PGR3 and Kameo are definitely on launch day - Activision are hopeful of getting CoD2 out at launch as well - I guess its all down to getting the games through certification!

Bloody hell, I wish I had the spare cash and time to buy that many games! I'll be getting what ever gets the best reviews, most likely PGR3 and PDZ, also £40 for a live subscription. Might also treat myself to a third game for christmas day if anything else gets top review scores.

    Condemned
    Top Spin 2
    Project Gotham Racing 3
    Call of Duty 2
    Quake 4
    year subscribtion to xbox live
Maybe Oblivioun, Tiger Woods and Gun

I'm working loads of overtime to buy a HD TV, 360 and games. I also live at home which is why I can afford to buy that many. It's great living at home lol.

For launch i've pre-ordered COD2 & PGR3 (both using the old Adsa deal to get them for £33 each :smashin: ).

I don't want any more than that at launch to be fair as if I order more they will just end up sitting on the shelf gathering dust. 2 is a good amount IMO as most of my time will be spent on PGR3 and COD2 is there for when I fancy a break from that. Don't forget that there will also be PES5 (X-Box) that will get a serious amount of play, even once the 360 is out.

The problem with huge high quality day one lists is that I will be too tempted to buy more than I should  . Day one console days must be how mrs antcool feels when she comes back from brum with bags and bags of new look, h&m, etc.

I'm banking on being able to buy PDZ (confirmed), Kameo (I believe that's been confirmed as day one too), PGR3 and DOA4 on december 2nd. Ridge Racer is my wild card.

When xbox came out it was something of a first to be able to pick up the quality of Halo, Amped, PGR, and DOA3 straight away so maybe we've all been a little spoiled.

Well you know what they say about great minds mate :smashin: .

I've fallen into the trap of buying loads of games at once before and most of them end up getting sold without getting much play at all and it's a waste. I used to buy loads of games (perhaps 2 or 3 a month) but now i'll generally get a new game every couple of months or so and I find that I appreciate them much more that way.

I guess that when I was younger there was no where near the amount of games released that you get now and the quality was a lot more variable in the past. Great games were quite rare. Now that the industry is so big & competetive you tend to get a few good games coming out each month so given the slim pickings of the past it's easy to get carried away these days and buy loads!

I very much doubt either Saint's Row or The Outfit are going to make it at launch. Apparently Saint's Row has been delayed and The Outfit was never meant to be a launch title. You're more likely to see Ghost Recon 3 and possibly King Kong at launch.

Thankfully Ghost recon 3 has been delayed till Feb 06 - As the showing at X05 was very poor, looking nothing like the teaser videos that have been going round since E3. Hopefully they can get the graphics up to next gen standard by Feb.
As for the games I'm getting.....(if they actually make launch day)
I'll buy these from Game so if they are too short/ crap i can take them back and get something else.

    Call of duty 2
    Condemned
    Perfect Dark Zero
Gun (not really next gen graphics but the game looks like great fun)

Does anyone else feet cheated regarding the GR3 graphics? I'm glad it's delayed too. I hate all these pre-rendered videos that do not reflect in game graphics.

I was looking forward to it.

Why, they look great! Someone posted a vid on another thread (the one where he walks down the road blows up 2 cars and takes out 2 or 3 dudes) and it was the same quality as the earlier vids and was in game not pre rendered. I've also seen one of a multiplayer map which wasn't as good (but the character graphics were still spot on) but generally i've been impressed by GR3's graphics.

Speaking of GR3, the trailer (which is on Farcry for the X-Box in the etras) is amazing and it's quite hard to tell it apart from real film footage! Seriously it's a great bit of CGI as you can only tell it's CGI when it zooms in close to their faces (which are very well done but you can still tell they are CGI). If it didn't zoom in then some people would argue blind that it was real and not CGI, it's that good! I know that is only a pre rendered trailer but it probably won't be that long before they bring out a console that can do graphics of that quality in real time!

    Ive decided on:
    PGR 3
    Ridge Racer 6
    Kameo
    Perfect Dark

and I want FF11, but theres no signe of it so I might get Something else instead.
    Maybe COD 2?

All together is should set me back about $700. Not bad considering I spent more than that just to buy the first XBox (with no games) on import in Japan!!!
