360 failure again!!

My 13 yr old lads 360 is gone again.... machine is approx 4-5 yr old
He had new laser done by microsoft approx 15 months ago.
Three red lights on several months ago and it was repaired by a mate of a mate..... heatsink problem apparently and it cost £20, not bad.

Now he has 1 red light on.......

He has a 120gb HD so he doesn't need an elite package..... are the normal arcade ones the same as elite(just a HD difference in price).....

How reliable are new machines compared to old and is it worth taking extended warranty out ?

Is it best to buy new machine/package and just cut his losses ?.......

Where's the best place to get one from as well ?

Put the old one on ebay , go out buy a new Arcade , attach your Hard drive , jobs a good un

Make sure to transfer your licenses to the new console , so he can use all his downloaded content on the new xbox

I bought him a new one last night with money he had left over from xmas.

The one that's fubar had a new laser fitted 15 months ago and new heatsinks done about 6 months ago, how much will he get for it roughly ?
