After about a week, the picture quality is degrading. The picture always looks as if the brightness and contrast are very high. I have used the DVE disk to set them and tried to compensate with the DVD player settings but all channels look washed out. Visually trying to alter the settings has not worked so far.

The picture seems to have drifted downwards for example whilst watching News24 the scrolling news reel is now only half visible. This is the same on Freeview and video.

What I least understand is that for the first few days, the picture looked great, with only a hint of high brightness but one week later and everything seems to have drifted.

    Any ideas

Posting how you have the TV calibrated and what devices are connected to it (and how they are connected to it) would help give us some clues at least.
