I've a problem with my philips 32pw9509. The sound is crappy overall.

    Anyone have the same problem?
The sound is so crappy, that I've to turn it off and use my sourround system at all time.

    Anyone which the same issue?

What sort of crappy? Wonder if it is like my earlier 6517 and the 6506 I have now.

    NEWSFLASH!!!!

Mainstream TV in cruddy sound quality shocker!!!!!

Even next to a £20 satellite speaker, tv speakers will sound absolutely poo
I have never had the sound up on my TV since i acquired it. just use the home cinema and be done with it.

obviously you have spent money on this lovely set, and expect it to be ok in the sound stakes, but every tv sounds ok until you hear something better :lesson:

    :nono:

Don't agree: Tv sound can be poor, but clean! My 14 years old Finlux has a clean, distinct Nicam stereo sound. My new Philips 6506 and the 6517 before that has/had a richer sound, but also an extra disturbing, noisy sound, a clear fault.

To much crappy "bass" even if i adjust the EQ.
If I draw the bass down a notch, the sound becomes hallow...
When I boost the tweaker, the tv starts to make resonans sound...
If I activate the loudness the speakers just make a distorstion (don't know how to write this word) like sound....The loundness is a waist.
Earlier I've had both the 32PW8806 and 32PW8807 (both much more expensive then the 32pw9509...I thought it just was that new technology got cheaper...But, the sound in these modells was great (without a sub).
My 32pw8807 broke down. After 4 services, Philips gave me the 32pw9509 instead...
Why havn't philips installed a sub in this tv (like in the model we sell most at my work: 32pw8858).

I don't think it is a hardware brake in time issue.. I bought a demo modell from work which has been used for 500 Hours (because after trying different TVs, this modell worked with RGB on both scarts), instead of ordering a new one from philips (I wanted a product that worked in everyway).

That's true. I tested it against the Philips 32pw9618 and the Sony KV32XL90, both with good subwoofers.... The sound is kind of cheap and borring in the 32pw9509...
I'm glad I've spend so much money on a good sourround sound system
