32LG3000 - on-screen menus flickering on and off randomly

My 32LG3000 has started acting as if someone is mucking around with the remote control; displaying the menu, options and info screens randomly.

I've tried the following to stop this from happening:

1. I replaced the batteries in the remote control with new ones
2. I removed the batteries altogether
3. I have reset the TV to its factory settings, twice
4. I have disconnected the power supply to the TV for over 30 minutes
5. I have removed the batteries from all my other remote controls

None of these options have made any difference.

Does anyone know any other things I can try to resolve this problem?
