I'm after a 32" CRT widescreen TV - a good quality one. However, my one request is that I want one with surround - but one that actually comes with wired surround speakers and not a virtual built-in system. Apart from the fact that I prefer having the actual rear speakers I have mounts already and wiring for my present TV.

I was look at the Philips 32PW9617 but the rear speakers for that need connecting to each other, which is not very practical for my setup.

    Any suggestions?

    David.

the ZP38 is the predecessor of the 48, in other words , dead and gone.

I've got a 32ZP48 hooked to my DV575 via components and the prog scan image is out of this world ; and the DD5.1 ain't half bad either, still no DTS but hey, you cannot have everything!

I think that Tvs that say they are surround sound are not as good as having the real thing. You cant beat having an amp and good speakers to bring your dvd to life. Having said that i know people are on a buget ,but i cant tell you which is best , you will have to go and listen .

Admittedly, the TV integrated Dolby Digital decoder will never be a match, to a dedicated surround amp and speakers, but in my opinion the DD5.1 reproduction of the Tosh gives a run for their money to many a cheap all-in-1 box systems.

I'd say the tosh 32zp48 as well! I have one and am very happy with it!

Surround sound is good enough, no complaints!
