cheers lynx. I did and have bought the above set.

based on the fact this was a 1700 pound telly and its mine for 499

hopefully the SKY EPG wont be burnt in and it actualy works properaly. It has 1 yr warrenty and a 14day no Q's refund policy. So no worries there.

    thanks for the search

not pristine, it has a couple of marks on the front panel, screen looks okay. Im not too fussed about the cosmetics, ive got a 13month old daughter, she has crayons etc.
Im picking it up in the morning so will post my findings.
Not supplied in original packaging. Oh well nor was my wifes second hand 1996 fiesta 1.4 ghia, and that still does the job ford intended,

    cheers

Be careful Dom, I would be surprised if there are no burns on this screen. I would NEVER buy an ex-dem TV from a Currys/Dixons/Comet etc.

Matt, having worked at Comet, the Ex-Dem TVs they sell are simply the televisions on Display, if you can't see anything majorly wrong with them in the shop then there's nothing majorly wrong with them!

I wouldn't buy one myself however, simply becuase they've been on constantly for about 2-3 years.

What an amazing tele this sony is. I had a 4yr old goodmans 28" 4:3 untill about a month ago. Since then ive been watching everything on the panay PJ.
but this tele is very impresive for rich colours and black levels.

smurfin, thanks for the advice, but apart from a couple of knocks on the front of the case. (nothing to disturb the viewing pleasure) the picture is fantastic. I havent set it up correctly yet (AVIA) but the std picture modes produce some stunning results.

with regards to it being ex display and would touch it with a barge poll. I could understand if this was a CHEAP make low end set. This is NOT a cheap telly and i would expect it to be able to handle some hours on the clock and first impressions show its handled the COMET environment well

buy a second hand BMW with 70K on it and it will do another 70K
buy a second hand FORD with 70K on it and it will do another 5K

    its down to quality.

    thanks for advice.

    Dom
