Hi everyone,

This is my first post here so I hope you will all be gentle with me. I have been researching cheap LCD TVs (£400 - £450 ) and by googling found this forum. I have looked at some old threads and looked at some online reviews, I have narrowed down my choice to the following...

http://www.techfever.co.uk/products.asp?partno=195546

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=AV-000-MR

http://www.woolworths.co.uk/ww_p2/product/index.jhtml?pid=50788169

I am hoping to order ASAP but I would appreciate any comments you have on the brands/models I have chosen or perhaps even suggest something else in the same price range. I will admit that the technical stuff means very little to me........I just want to buy a TV of reasonable quality and reliability. It will be used with a Sky box, DVD player and VCR, possibly also PS2 if my 5 year old has his way. I am not botherd by the HD feature as I am not likely to ever have this - I won`t be paying extra for it and may even cancel my SKY and use Freeview (through the sky box) when it becomes available in the Welsh valleys. As I am a non-techie lady with no obliging man to set this up for me I am hoping it will be fairly easy to set up too.

I hope someone can help me choose, I am keen to get this ordered so I have a few days to get it all set up before the holidays.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

Refer to http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=433272 for the current Mirai thread. The model shown in overclockers is now an older model with new models out or coming out very soon. At pixmania you can pick up the 27" new Mirai for £340 + P&P which I will be getting after Xmas unless the price reduces anywhere else.

I would recommend the Mirai. Have just bought one after reading the forums here and I am very pleased.
