I just typed a huge thread which was lost as I was not logged in. Ahhhraaa! So a summarised version below (probably better to read).

Looking for a Panasoinc TV 32 flat screen

Was looking for
TX32LXD600
(see review)
http://www.hdtvorg.co.uk/reviews/lcd/Panasonic_TX32LXD600.htm

But John Lewis do not sell it (and want to buy from JL)

They do sell:
TX-32LXd70
http://www.johnlewis.com/Audio+and+...4/230418744/Product.aspx?SearchTerm=TX32LXD70

But I could not work out which is the newer model (contradicting information) and which is the best.

Anyone know? Or should I be looking for something else all together. Needs to be 32" and therefore LCD assumed best.

Thanks in advance.

comparing 26"'s I think 600 looks a tad more sharper than lxd/lmd 70 And then Better sound too. And more inputs features .....

600 is the more advanced model, though the difference lies mainly with better sound and more inputs - SD card etc. Picture quality is, I believe, no different.

I've 26" LXD600 and I think its the best LCD I've had yet dvds through HDMI from my marantz dv7600 are like HD (really) and HD from Ps3 and xbox 360 are outstanding.blue-ray and HD-dvd at 1080i ,I don't think could look better on a 26".

Ok great. Waht with the cheaper cost and JL availability it looks like the d70 is the preferred choice.

Now I need to find somewhere JL will price match.

Sky HD will be with this set. But forgive the ignorance here, if we are buying a DVD player with it, might as well we get a recordable one?
Can you get a Blueray DVD recordable one?
Is it worth having a DVD recorded if you have Skyplus/HD?

this may be for another thread but as is basic info maybe you guys can help.

Thanks

The LXD 70 is better than the 600.... the technology has moved on.....and the picture improvement is there on both the 26" and 32" models.

I sent a PM request to JL the end of last week about the LXD70. I've opted for Electrosaver (http://www.electrosaver.co.uk/product_details.asp?id=LCD TV&Product=Television&productid=TX32LXD70) as I've had an email confirmation from the undersales manager at the JL Bolton branch that they will PM that shop.

I've also had successful PMs with Empire Direct, but they currently only stock the LMD70s.
