    Mornin' all ;)

    Looking to order an HD-Ready 32" LCD for the kitchen, hoping to get some comments and reviews on the following two;

    Panasonic TX32LXD50 (no HDMI, built in Freeview)
    Samsung LE32R41B (HDMI, no freeview)

    Now I've read a few threads about the Panny and they all seem to say its fantastic; it hasn't got HDMI but its got a built in freeview. Rang up to see if its in stock - no chance lol. Then one of our wholesaler promo leaflets came through the post and on the cover they had the 32" Samsung with a free DVD Writer (Samsung DVDR-122) for £899. Now this seems like quite a good deal to me, also seeing as it has HDMI (loosing the freeview isn't a big problem as we'll be using the Sky with it), but how does the picture quality compare between the two? The Panny is suppose to be excellent, but if it hasn't got HDMI how can it display 1080 etc?

    Unfortunately I don't have time to go and have a look at both screens - the Samsung promo will probably run out pretty soon, so if it is a good buy I'd like to get my order in before the end of the day.

    I've never had a Samsung so I am a bit wary.

    Picture wise they both seem to be fine, there are some tearing problems with the samsung over the hdmi connection i've read in the samsung thread. Probably can't go wrong with the panasonic, just hdmi connection. For reliability i would always choose a japanese over a korean tv...

    Rang up the supplier, they have run out of the "free gifts" (The Samsung DVD Writer), instead they knocked the price on the LE32R41B down to £800 and chucked in the VESA wall mount! :clap:

    Job done, ordered, should be here Wednesday :D

    HBL - Wholesale Electronics Distributor

    They don't sell directly to the public, but you can be sneeky and set up an account through your company :)

    The offer was for the LE32R41B + Samsung DVDRW (free gift) for £899, and the wall mount costing an extra £12 (!!). As I mentioned before they ran out of the free gifts, but I mentioned that I'd told the customer for whom I'd ordered the Samsung, that they'd receive the DVDRW, so to compensate they knocked £100 of the price and chucked in the wall mount :cool:

    Don't see why not.

    My company sells tools, hardware, etc, not LCD's :). We get their promo's through the post every month and we've only ever ordered the odd item from them.

    I seem to read that Panasonic LCD's are manufactured in Taiwan.
