Will a sim from the 3 network work in any unlocked mobile?
No! It has to be a "3g phone" for it to be able to accept 3g sim cards.
I asked my mate to try his "3G" sim in his new "non 3G" phone, and it did work. (he rang me on it)
It would only work as a normal "non 3G" phone though.
So unless my mate was playing a joke on me, then yes it should work on a unlocked phone.
I remember they worked in P800's and other 'recent' mobiles but they did something to stop it.
But recently my mate put his in a panny GD67 and it works fine!
I would have thought it would since the phone is unlocked. Any phone which is unlocked should accepet any UK sim card!
So we can get a 3g contract and not have to put up with the awful phones they have at the moment....
The 3G sims will only work in a limited set of modern 2G phones. I came across a list of which phones they've been known to work in, found it via Google, have a look here http://www.geocities.com/drtamseel/2ph3sim.html
3 usim's dont work in old 2g gsm phones.
They did untill a few months ago.
People were using their sims in their old 2g phones and making all there calls on the o2 network with there free mins and it was costing 3 (as they have tp pay o2 for the calls on there network) a fortune so they sent sim updates to all the sims out there so it cant be done and all new sims have already been done.
