Hi have has a sky box for 1 year and would like to obtain a 2nd for another part of the house but sky want around £250 plus installation and £12 per month for the additional viewing card. I dont mind paying £12 per month but can I obtain a cheaper box (perhaps 2nd hand) and do I need a 2nd LNB on the dish ? anybody have any advise or contacts regards

You can buy a second box from anywhere, independent dealer, second hand from a local paper/car boot or on an auction site.
You will have to replace your existing single output LNB with a twin or quad LNB and then a second cable run to the new box.
The £265 deal from SKY ain't that bad considering it's a new digibox and they supply and fit the LNB and cable but you can do it much cheaper if you don't mind an older box.

To get the "mirror" subscription both boxes have to be connected to the same phoneline.
