Just got a new lcd for our kitchen and want to link to HD box. Is there a better way of connection other than RF2 out and magic eye? :lease:

you can output both the HDMI and the component at the same time so you could use one of these.. I am using a 20M hdmi cable and the quality is fantastic. My guess would be to use component for your main TV, it will use scart for the sound (component doesn't carry sound) and hdmi for the kitchen if possible as it carries sound...

When viewing the 'main' tv through component and scart, will this not reduce the HD picture quality?
I am looking at a similar situation for a new build, and want to put the cables in beforehand, without going for Multiroom. It would certainly be easier to prepare for an HDMI cable run than a scart and component mix, but as the more watched TV will be in the lounge beside the Sky box, I would prefer it to have the better picture.
What about coax RF output from the HD box - what would the quality on it be like?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi mate,

Why don't you run hdmi to your 2nd tv location, and fit a 2 way hdmi splitter behind the main tv/skyhd box:smashin: run a coax too, then you'll be able to control from the 2nd location , with a magic eye, aswell

I got mine from ebay, its an absolutely superb cable, even comes with an amplifier, led on the cable and a power adaptor! I personally didn't need the amp boost, but its there if you need it.

I paid about 30 quid for it which is extrordinary considering what some are charging for long cable lengths (or even short ones!) It came from OWL video systems. Their ebay id is owl-visual.

    Good Luck. :smashin:
