    Re-posted from another thread; :suicide:

Thinking of purchasing one of these Denons but spooked by the macroblocking and playablity issues mentioned here. Seems the MB issue was particularly bad with Panny Plasma panels. Anyoneone had any experience of using LCD with the Denons and in particular the Sharp or Loewe panels?

Looking also at the Pioner 868, but lack of upscaling puts me off.

I have a ViewSonic N3000w LCD, which I use with my 3910 via DVI and with my 3805 via interlaced component, and it's excellent - not had any problems at all, and never noticed any macroblocking.

I tried 2 different 2910s before I got the 3910, and I would recommend paying the extra for the 3910 - it is much less fussy when playing slightly less-than-perfect discs than the 2910, and sound quality is noticeably better.

Must admit the 3910 is tempting however I can't justify the extra cash for what appears to be the greater audio benefit rather than video as I will continue to use a Linn Ikemi for 2 channel.
