280mm 2.8 Street Test

Since my 200mm f2 arrived today, I thought I'd try it on the street - quite fancied using the 1.4x TC for this, so I did. It loses some sharpness when I view 1:1 - but I haven't yet tried correcting focus if need be.

Do they come up 2nd hand much? I have a 70-200 we use for speeches but I want something longer for reaction shots. I use an 85mm at the moment but I quite fancy the 200mm.

There's one in London Camera Exchange (The Strand) - they don't come up often from what i've seen

:D the alternative is to have a running head start, which I now have :D

...sort of countered by how slow you'll be running now... ;)

They do look a little soft to me Dan but hard to be sure without larger images to check detail areas

Cracking shots Dan, although as a while I do agree they're a little soft/OOF. Do you think it's the TC that may not be helping.

Really like the overall look of 2. The beggar, sorry I mean busker  and the girl on the phone are great shots, as is the Indian. Love the look of 22 with the subject isolation :)

cheers, I think the TC it's likely cause of the softness - maybe I should try with the TC stopped down to f4. The DOF would still be quite shallow at 280mm
