having finally ordered my AVR2805 and Acoustic Energy 3B's, I am now getting to delivery time in the next 1-2 days.

Then, I need to work out how to connect everything together.

Sound side is straight forward enough.

Vision side - Is it better to send the picture direct to the TV or feed them all via the 2805.

I know it up-cons to component but does it take RGB?

I have Sky +, Sagem Freeview and Pioneer 530 DVD/HDD.

Any advice from someone whos been there would be great.

    Cheers

The amp can not deal with RGB unless converted to Component. If possible always run direct to your display for maximum PQ, but the effect of the amp should be neglible.

How many inputs are on your TV? and what type?

Good choice of components there. I've just bought an AVR-3803 and some Acoustic Energy 3Bs secondhand (along with a new Pioneer 530), and they're superb. Your ears are in for a treat.

I would try to connect video direct to the TV if you can, unless you have component inputs on the TV.

My TV is a Sagem D45 so I can input RGB, S-Video and / or Component.

I currently (until amp arrives) have the sky to the DVD via RGB Scart, the FreeView direct to the Sagem via RGB Scart and the Pioneer 530 to the Sagem via Component.

I was going to put them all via the amp but would then need to down the output of Sky and Freeview to at least S-Video, which I think might defeat the object compared to RGB?

Best sticking with RGB. The only advantage is that you have to switch the source on the TV and the amp but that shouldn't be a problem :)
