My Denon 3300 (precursor to the 3801) has developed an intermittent fault that's proving to be difficult to fix. A friend of mine has a 2802 that he is willing to sell as he wants to upgrade to a 3805.

My main concern is that the 2802 is a lower level than the 3300 (ie 2 series as opposed to 3 series). However it is newer generation and has features like PL 2 and 6.1 which the 3300 does not have. It also has a slightly lower output but this does not bother me as I use external amps. Is there anything else I will be losing out on by moving to the 2802? In particular I don't want to lose out on inputs and multiroom facilities. Also what would be a reasonable amount to pay for it?

I don't really want to splash out on a new amp and I don't want to change brands as my complex setup of equipment will integrate perfectly with the 2802.
