As I definately have a LG. Philips tube (cybertube) in my new 28inch 9617 - bought a fortnight ago from HiFi Confidential in London - and I have seen posts from Nyqvil Driver who also has a 28 inch with cybertube - I am wondering if all with this screen size have Philips tubes. Is there anyone out there with a 28inch with a Panny tube?

It is a great set so if you can gaurantee avoiding a Panny tube if you buy the 28 inch then that is better news.

Yep, mine definitely has a Cybertube because I looked through the vents and checked. I never really doubted it though as there are no centre markings and the picture doesn't suffer from any of the usual Panny problems. I had a Panasonic PL1 earlier this year which I was very unhappy with, so I would have been absolutely appalled if my new Philips arrived with a Panny tube in it.

As you say, maybe the 28" models are all blessed with the correct tube?.
