Does anybody know the release date for this film. Also what extra's dvd will have.
Dont know mate but ill be buying it.
It hasnt been theatrically released in the US yet, so expect region 2 to be out first.
Saw it at the pics and thought it was great.
accoring to imdb (and my limited) it was realised in november by Fox. that would give us either a retail version around May. Or a rental around april may and retail around 3-6months later. As Fox are the rightholders for the whole world (western at least) they might well use that fact as they won't lose any money due to international versions.
Can't wait for it though. It was a great film and much better than dog soldiers (IMO)
a bold statement and a good recommendation, looking forward to this one.
I have seen and thouroughly enjoyed both. I would say that 28 days was the better film. However, given that James and I rarely agree on these things, I am ready hear him tell me I am talking ********
Never got round to seeing Dog Soldiers, is it worth a watch?
it'll never happen Mac
Dog Soldiers is a great, tongue in cheek, British cult horror with Sean Pertwee. I never thought I'd use those words in one sentence!
Exactly what James said!
I got region 1 quite cheaply, but I only saw it on my TV and I hear a lot of people feel the pic quality is poor. It was acceptable to me and as it was a low budget film maybe the DVD transfer is not to blame. Region 2 is out soon. I cant wait to see it again on my projector.
saw the Dog Soldiers rental 2 version and the picture was grainy but I imagine that's more to do with the filming rather than the transfer. Got the R2 retail on pre-order I wanted to wait for the extra commentaries.
Whole heartedly agree. 28 Days Later was one of the best films I saw at the cinema in 2002. Should look awesome on DVD as it was shot entirely on Digital Video.
There's one scene in the film with a POV shot with some rain falling down (at the road blockade) that looked so gorgeous at the cinema and should work even better on DVD. From memory of the cinema experience, the DVD should offer some nice surround sound touches also.
If you thought Dog Soldiers looked a bit grainy I think you shouldn't expect a lot from 28 Days Later - it has a very odd low res, contrasty look to it which I think works really well in the film but isn't "hi-fi" by any stretch of the imagination. Excellent film though, I saw it twice, very visceral and quite a few shocks. Really good use of music to build tension at the manor house showdown too.
Any news yet on release 28 Days Later that is not Dog Soldiers.
5 May according to retailers.
...they must have just put that up, just ordered my copy.
