27" Smart TV with VESA holes

Get the model number from the back and post it here.

The TV uses Miracast for screen sharing, so your source needs to support it. Windows PCs do, most Android devices also do, no idea about iPhone.
Casting is a different thing altogether.
USB recording is supported.

All these things are mentioned (with steps) in the user manual:
Model is LG 27MS73V.

Yeah, I don't have problems finding all the options, my TV supports it but never really worked properly. Works initially and then cuts out, despite numerous firmware updates over the years, no joy. Android phone. My iPhone can't even see it but always picks up a Samsung Q7 we have in the house. TV's connected via Ethernet

USB recording; it has the options and I know what to press. Tried different hard drives and USB flash drives and have an army of them. TV always moaned that it can't find a compatible disk whereby another telly, a Samsung just works with whatever stick you plug in including cheapo unbranded ones. I blame their software and am hoping it's all improved since. But anyway, this is the one I'm looking to replace so doesn't matter now I guess!

5.4kg, so it weighs more than the TV.

I wouldn't have high expectations using built in smart TV, as you say stuff rarely works very well. Recording is another after-thought. You may find the new TV is better.

TVs are very funky when it comes to flash drives, and they ext drives themselves need to be formatted correctly. If a TV doesn't work with a flash drive, try a powered USB drive instead, usually the issue is the TV not delivering enough power via USB.

I think iPhones may support miracast which is what you see when you see your Samsung TV. Should be the same with the LG.

Ta. My current one weighs 1KG more then. So that's not a prob. I might go with it with the brackets then.

Agreed. I know about the formatting (proprietary formats for each brand) . However, the Samsung was happy with EVERY drive I threw at it. The LG, none. I tried using the LG TV to format. It was having none of it.

Umm...yeah. tried that and all. Tried USB HDDs as well as Flash drives and even tried a 3.5" Desktop external drive that needed a power adapter. Gave up in the end.

Coolio. Many thanks. I think I'm gonna go with Vickster's suggestion. Price is good too :)

Weigh it on scales?

Not tried to cast and I’m working at mo. Never really felt the need as it’s just a secondary bedroom tv
That would be a big ask due to the number of cables on it (bundled quite a lot around back) and not a fun job removing from the arm. Lots of clutter also (Small room, too many gadgets) but according to Dodgexander's sources, mine is probably heavier than this 32" so I'm gonna look at buying this one and hope that bracket converter does the job. Richer Sounds is a good bet and have used them before.

Thanks very much for replying with the info. Much appreciated.

For info - LG have dropped the RRP of the 32" LM6300 down to £220 on their site because it's been superceded by the LM6370 which is essentially the same TV, but just relaunched for 2021.

Richer Sounds are one of the few places to have stock of the LM6300 left - Currys sold out a while ago.

Thanks. I'll have a look. But for 6 years warranty if I can get it from Richer Sounds, I'd still opt to spend the extra £30 but appreciate the info!

EDIT: LG site lists the £219 price then tells me to buy from authorised resellers. Laptop Outlet and Richer Sounds. Laptop Outlet priced at £242.99 but they're out of stock anyway. Oh and only 1 year warranty.

Richer sounds it is. 6 year warranty is amazing.

Edit: Just ordered.

Personally, I don't trust Currys warranty. Even if you pay for their insurance.

I buy some things from them if I trust I'm unlikely to need warranty or I can go direct to the manufacturer like with my current iPhone.

Some of the Currys staff I've dealt with in store are shady liars.

I got RS to match LG list price - ordered to replace fading 14 year old Kitchen TV.

you just ordered the same TV? Bit too late for me. Never mind. Didn’t know they did price matching
Sorry but whatever I think you have bought the best 32" TV available at present. Actually they normally give a "price beat" but said in this case could only price match. I bought a big Sony TV from them in April and they gave an extra £10 off a discount deal from anther retailer.
I think they carry the accolade of best TV retailer from "Which"
So if John Lewis offer a discount or price match RS will always go 1 better and give an extra years warranty. With the crazy revolution in retail outlets at the moment if I had money to invest I would put it with RS rather than John Lewis. RS have been successfully trading in the video and hi-fi markets for at least 20 years.

I see. They are top notch. John Lewis are struggling at the minute and have closed like 14 stores across the country including my local one so yeah, I'd put money on RS too out of the two. RS are specialists in audio / visual kit unlike JL that seems to do a bit of everything, so not surprising.

My dad's always been in their VIP club. I've bought bits and pieces from them too. Made my purchase online to fast track it this time and the stores are currently appointment only and all that. Might change next week as restrictions are lifted. Like to pop in for a browse when I'm in the area, pre-covid.

Our local John Lewis (Peterborough) has also closed destroying the best shopping mall hereabouts, alternative is Cambridge but has astronomic parking charges. I bought both TV's on the phone as this way you can get a rapid answer on a price beat/match request.
Please PM if you have any points on this TV you would like to discuss I have been around TV's for a long time as my Avatar and screen name suggest.

Cool. Will do. Thanks.

I would always go for a 32" at least rather than these glorified monitors in the sub-32" category. Most of the time they used to have TN panels as well which is the worst type of panel you can have ...

The 14 year old kitchen TV I am replacing has a TN panel which providing it is viewed head on has provided a very acceptable contrast/colour/brightness. It is on a cranked arm/tilt wall mounting so that head on viewing can easily be maintained
The resolution is not 16:9 but 16:10 at 1050x1680 which gives surprisingly good upscaled 576i from freeview.
However this TV has a CCFL backlight and it is evident that this is rapidly failing so it is time for its retirement and unfortunately will be consigned to the electronic equipment skip at the local recycling centre.

Yes you can still get a pretty acceptable picture with a TN panel and dependign on the purpose it can be just fine (still have a TN montior as wel besides IPS). But you usually encounter questions such as 'what is the best 24" tv' when they are generally outfitted with middle of the road TN panels and never get reviewed. The differences between them are going to be marginal at best but I see the LG 27MS73V mentioned above is one that actually has an IPS panel. The art of finding the best tv's in this size range is probably down to finding out which ones don't have a TN panel ...

Yeah, I've had no problems with Viewing angles thanks to the IPS panel on my 27MS73V. I think that was one of my criteria for picking this one at the time.

P.S. My 32LM63 just arrived. :D I'm waiting for the bracket converter so will sort out after work / evening.

Mine arrives within next 40 mins. Amazing less than 20 hours after ordering. Did not pay extra for express delivery and wss told delivery would be 5 to 6 working days.

Oh, I paid extra for Next Day. haha. I keep spending extra money for nothing it seems lately. Never mind!

Also, glad they use DPD. The best courier for alerts and accurate delivery ETAs IMO

OK got this TV today and struggling to get settings right but dong this in confined space preparatory to it going on the Kitchen wall. Also viewing angles do not seem good at all. I thought this panel was IPS but seem to remember seeing somewhere it was MVA but dismissed this as improbable for a cheap LG TV ? If it is a VA I am not sure that it will work in the kitchen.

It could be an IPS panel, but one that doesn't have as good viewing angles.
There are other ways you can check:

I'd probably turn the lights of at night and use some dark test patterns/movies/tv shows, light leaking will be a lot worse if its IPS.

The characteristics of viewing angles are also different between VA and IPS. Viewing IPS at an angle on some TVs can result in the picture just getting darker, whilst viewing VA off axis results in the colours also getting washed out.

Of course it is plasuable the TV has a VA panel. LG have used VA panels before, and with the very cheap/small TVs they will just use whatevers the cheapest. Panel production has also changed a lot recently in the last couple of years due to some plants being shut down by Samsung.

Thanks Dodge as always . The Explanation of viewing angle effects you give indicates it is a VA panel. Indeed the colour washout appears to be worse than my Sony 49XH9505 which of course does not have the wide angle enhancement of the bigger sizes of this TV but which I find is far less sensitive to off centre viewing than I expected.

However as said my assessment of the TV so far has been in very confined space due to availability of freeview signal which I had to use as was a scheduled visit from VM cable for upgrade to router this PM. So did not wish to change status quo until after his visit.

Will assess again tomorrow when I can relocate TV into decent viewing space and connect to a V6 box.

Btw the term MVA always used to mean the panel was made by AUO Taiwan?

I think MVA is the original name for VA panels. Since then its been adapted in to different variations of the same thing...the same as IPS actually.
This link best explains it:

I doubt its a Samsung panel, so it will probably be AUO or Innolux. Not sure about smaller sizes but Innolux panels tend to be the worse for viewing angles at larger sizes. The benefit to them however is better contrast/blacks.

Its always some kind of balance that has to be made between contrast/blacks and viewing angles. There's no one-perfect solution.

I think your Sony probably is using a Samsung panel, either that or CSOT (which is basically TCL, but also used by Samsung).

If you have the full model name you can derrive the panel manufacturer from it. So far I've come across a 32LM6300PLA.BEUBLJP and an 32LM630BPLA.BEUQLJP where the B and Q (or what seemed to be a Q in the blurry pic I found. Could be a G as well as I found another listing with a G) should represent the panel manufacturer. Unfortunately the (unofficial) list of manufcturers is a little out of date and these three letters aren't present ...

Good morning. Going to be a lovely day.

so I’ve managed to fit to my monitor arm with the adapter from Amazon. No problem with viewing angles. So far so good.

Thanks for the suggestion
