 While tweaking a Sony 32FQ86 for a friend I noticed that the Hours meter read 47,822 Hours 30 Minutes. At 5 hours per day this equates to around 26 years of use. There is no way to reset it, I just wonder whether it might lead to some interesting conversations if it ever needs repair in or out of warranty.
Anyone like to check their reading, its on the top of the Errors menu in service mode.

    Howie,

As a matter of interest, what's the real age of this TV?

    Good Lord!

Whilst it's amusing at the moment, perhaps this should be reported to your supplier, just in case there's a problem sometime in the future.

I suspect (well guess actually!) that it can be zeroed by some "secret" method.

Hi everyone, thank goodness its just not me who has a problem with this model.
The service engineer came out to look at it after I had told them about the tv shutting down intermittently.
Engineer went into service mode, and it was showing the tv had done more than 60,000 hours, that is approx 5 years use !
Anyway the tv is being replaced and hopefully this one will have the correct hours on it.
Perhaps there is a software corruption problem ?

    Ventoboy1000,

Might be an idea to check what it says in 6 weeks.

You could be in for a shock!

    Hi everyone.
Had a week with my new KV32FQ86 but not very happy.
The picture is quite dark on all channels and some programs are difficult to watch. There is very little sharpness also.
Also when the tv is switched on in the morning, it makes such a loud noise !
My original FQ86 didn't seem to have these problems.
The picture was bright, sharp, except for 2 things the hours log showing over 60,000 hours and also switching off at times !
I'm not sure what to do anymore.
Called engineer who is looking into it.
It seems that it's just pot luck if you got a decent TV nowadays.
Our old Sony Tv lasted for 12 years with no probs.

Is this what the good people of Portugal typically get up to at 0248 on a Sunday morning?
