U found 2 bloody amazing bargains there dude!!

I was considering getting an LG 22" Monitor/TV from Play.com for £200, but they keep pushing back the release date & these 2 little babys look tempting.

Anyone out there got some info as I would like to know too!!

I am also contemplating getting this model, Paul. But someone on here (can't remember the name, apologies) told me to be wary of the panel numbers, whether they're S or C.

    Still contemplating...

I'm contemplating a lot because this will be my first LCD TV - have had a 14" CRT for 6/7 years!

Someone said something about paying £100 more for a TV which has got a £20 Freeview tuner built-in and it's got me thinking.

Do I buy this 27" AOC TV, use my Freeview box and save £90 (to spend on good speakers etc) or buy the Samsung because it's a better brand and looks better?

The AOC comes with a two-year warranty, the Samsung only one.

I'm more attracted to the Samsung, but I'm in exactly the same boat as you.

The samsung is far better spec wise as well, but the 1 year warranty isn't too reassuring.

Might have to dip a couple of hundred into my overdraft to get it, what with being a student and all.

I'm definately going with the Samsung.

People talk about 32" LCDs but I think 26" will be big enough for me.

The Samsung's had an average rating of 4.5/5 from 30 reviews at Amazon.

    7 5-star ratings at Dabs.

Are you going to get the extra 3 year warranty then? What's the scart to scart cable for?

Someone said that if I didn't get it now, I'd probably forget in a year's time.

I need a SCART cable for connecting my DVD player to the TV.

Do we know if Samsung offer extended warranty at the end of the first year?

Another satisfied owner of the LE26R74BDX. :D

What's the sound like on it?

I've heard that it's just about OK - not great.

You can't use HDMI with the Xbox 360 at the moment, so I should think it's the Component HD AV cable?

I was advised in an earlier thread to "check its the spva model and not the cma model if you can before you buy".

But there's nowhere to check online for that, so if it's the "bad" version you can either send it back or keep it and change the settings a bit. Many people have no problems with the weaker version, it's just some do.

And the Samsung hasn't got a VGA port, so you can't use the VGA HD cable.

Is the S version you mentioned earlier, the PVA panel type?

According to their web site, Amazon are selling the S-PVA version, so it might be a good idea to be safe and spend £30 more buying from there (than at RGB Direct).

I emailed RGB about this earlier today. They replied:

    Dear Sir/Madam,

In regards to your query please call Samsung helpline no. at 01932 455000 . For the stock availability or any other information please call us at 0208 553 1708 and we will be able to help you.

    Kind Regards
    RGB

So yeah, they couldn't really help me out with that.

    It's got a D-Sub connector for a PC monitor.

I've actually got a DVI connector on my graphics card, so would have to connect my DVI-to-VGA attachment to the TV.

I'm getting too technical now! :D
