    Hi

Im currently looking for a new notebook and most
of the notebooks im interested in have a
256MB Nvidia geforce go 7600gt graphic card.

As i dont know to much about graphic cards
could anyone tell me if this card is good enough
to play past and current games reasonably well
say at a resolution of 1024x768 for example?

    Thankyou

Yep, the 7600gt is a superb budget card which'll play the latest games comfortably at the resolution you suggest.
A decent cpu would improve matters considerably.

Could you also let me know how the
256MB Nvidia geforce go7600 handles current games as well, because which ever system i end up getting will probably have one of these cards in it.

p.s. is there really a performance difference between the 7600 and the 7600gt or are they basically the same card.

My Acer has 7600 and i can say youll be able to play most new games with ease. As an example, when i bought the laptop last september I got Quake 4 and am able play @ 1360x768 resolution with either max settings or the same resolution @ high settings with 8x AA. So its not a bad card although they are about to bring out the 8 series mobile cards soon so it may be worth waiting a month or so and getting a laptop with one of those in and the latest Intel processors.
