Are you going to watch the new series or wait for the dvd

Personally, I may record them all then watch

I found the dvd of season 1 so much better than watching each week

As soon as I'd watched season 1 on DVD I said then that I'd wait for season 2 to appear on DVD before watching it. I'm far too impatient I'm afraid

24 Season 2 is absolutely gripping. I am watching episodes as they have been shown in the US and the intensity and the density of the story line is several levels above Season 1.

    Truly first class TV.

All of you thinking of waiting for the DVD to appear it is going to a an agonising wait.

Check www.fox.com/24 for the first 11 episodes.

I'll record every episode and then watch them all in a go at the end. Whilst I loved 24 Series 1 I didn't buy it on DVD as I don't think it's the sort of thing that you can watch twice (once you know what happens).

Didn’t the DVD’s get edited so those who watched it on TV saw the unedited version. That’s a good reason to watch it on the BBC.

yes but Fox exchanged the discs

It effected a couple of episodes on discs 5 and 6. They were not edited for content reasons more shockingly they were cut to allow extra ad time.

It was a major oversight from Fox, but fair play they corrected the mistake.

Aparently episode 1 of the new season was aired in the US without Ads. If I remember rightly, Ford? a car company sponsored the episode with an ad at the start and loads of product placement.

I think non sky+ people are very lucky BBC bought the rights and not sky. A lot of the tension would be lost with ads every 10 min.

Something positive for the licence fee

I thought 24 was overrated pap. After about 4 episodes I couldn't watch any more. Won't be giving the new season a 2nd chance either.

It was a response to dts borg - he hasn't seen a single episode so buying the boxset might be an expensive mistake. Not everyone thinks it's the greatest series known to man.

Just creating a bit of balance is all. If he hadn't asked I'd have said nothing. I've been suckered into buying things on the rave recommendations of others, only to find that I'd made a dreadful mistake.

to be fair it was asking whether you were prepared to wait for the DVD or watch one at a time so it kind of would automatically limit it to people who intended to do one or the other

people who hated the first season are not going to really be either

THB i couldn't get into the first season on BBC2 and gave up at around 10-11 ish

    but I loved the DVD

It is really like one long film, if you watched 5 min of a film each week for 24 weeks you probably wouldn't get into that either
