24

I'm not sure whether this has been discussed before, but can anyone clarify the situation regarding the UK DVD boxset of 24?

Apparently, the UK release got the US version of 24, and as such there are some differences in the 2 sets of disks?

I know that Fox UK will change the disks, but I'd like to know which set has the more footage - UK or US?

Cheers,
Bruce

This is the email that I have received from Fox:-Hi

The UK DVD release of 24 is taken from the US version and therefore contains
approximately 90 seconds of cuts from the UK aired programmes on the last
five episodes.

If consumers wish to replace discs 5 and 6, which are the only ones
affected, they can send their copies of disc 5 and 6 to the following
address free of charge:

20th Century Fox
Freepost 38LON20304
London
W1E 3HG

Twentieth Century Fox will replace the returned discs free of charge.

PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU SEND IN YOUR RETURN POSTAL ADDRESS WITH ANY RETURNS

Discs will be available in approx 6 weeks. We will acknowledge receipt of
your discs with a letter.

Retail outlets will not be exchanging boxsets in store.

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment does not currently have any plans
to re-release 24 on DVD.

The VHS version contains all of the UK aired programmes.

Kind regards

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment

Hope this helps, Bozza

Harj,

From what I can remember, once the problem had been spotted the correct discs were used in the box sets. People that had bought the box set before these 'fixed' discs were used can have them replaced by Fox. There is a code on the discs that show which version it is. I can't remember what they are but this problem was discussed on this form. I'm sure a search forum will show you the details needed - you will probably need to search from about when Season 1 was released, for a guess.

Cheers,

Kris.

was it only on the british R2 version? I bought the box here in Iceland and it seems to be the German version, or at least manifactured in Germany. Anybody know if it has been fixed there, or if it was a problem at all?
Love the show, though..
