I know this is the lower end of the market, but does anyone have any advice on 24" models. I can't afford the Sony KV24LS35, although it has great reviews.

I have been looking at more reasonably priced alternatives, especially the Panasonic TX24DX1 and the Philips 24PW6006.

Has anyone come across either of them, are they good value for money? A shop told me they are the same TV but in different cases - is this true?

    Cheers

Philips are using Panny tubes in their 6006 now as well?

Do a search for the "PW6006" and the "DK1" in general on this forum to get some views (I presume you meant the DK1 as I haven't heard of the DX1).

Like you 24in is big enough, but we are in the minority here.
I have also been comparing Philips 6006C and Pany TX24DX1 (yes DX1).
First impression: Philips looks better. Pany looks old fashioned box and its stand does not match well.
Facilities: Pany has more. Better remote handset.
Price: Philips is cheaper by some £30.
I also considered JVC once but suggest read other postings first.

    keep the ball rolling.

I bought the JVC for the kid's den. Does the job well although the sound is rather weak. Ok for them though. I don't particularly like silver tellies. Got this one in black AND listed at £30 Cheaper than silver!

If you are getting a W/S this small I think you may be better going for a 28” 4:3 as I think(could be wrong) that this will give you about the same size picture in the W/S mode and a lot bigger in 4:3. On the other hand if room is not at a premium the W/S is better.
Lastly you would be better though if you could get a 28W/S.
