Has any one else got this today. I ordered it some time ago and posted it in the special offers selection.
Reading the papers to day it supposedly only available for 24 hours, and I think it is limited to 50,000 sets.
I have to say the box that it comes in is very nice and opens up a bit out of the ordinary, to revel 2 box set in side one for each season.

Got mine today aswell. Purchased from Choices for £49.99.

As you say the box is very nice and snazzy too.

Not sure about only being available for 24 hours though. I bet if there are copies left they will be sold after this period. Plus after this 'limited edition' set there will probably be another non limited edition season 1 & 2 box set on sale anyway.

Hope the ltd box is as nice as I`ve heard :)

I already got season 1 from CD wow for £29.99 ages ago.

And poped into Blockbusters and bought it for £33.99

Excellent price, and looking forward to watching it, seen most of the Ep on bbc, but missed the last 3 so i missed last night's so could get the story.

Got season 2 boxset today, and just scanning a couple of discs.

What is quite annoying is that there is no listing of which episodes have commentaries. Meaning you have to go through each episode to find them.

Would have been nice if a list was included

Got mine today as well Garrett. Really like the packaging and hoping I will enjoy the series (saw bits and pieces on BBC2 when first broadcast but wasn't too impressed).

Matt Horne - They fixed the problem with disks 5 and 6 in the Series 1 boxset that is available in retailers so there is no need for anyone to send their disks back. So I would have been very surprised if the Ltd Ed didn't contain the fixed disks too!

Is it actually 24 hours on DVD as I remember watching it on BBC, and each episode was only 40 minutes long due to not having US commercials?

Also, which season was better? I saw all of day 2, but none of Day 1 :(

They put the US-aired versions on by accident, so the episodes were a bit shorter.

    Yeah, 40-42 minutes per episode.

I've just finished first 4 episodes (Disk 1) of S1 ... not doing an awful lot for me at the moment. It's good but nothing special so far - I hope it gets better :suicide:

I'd like to withdraw the above statement.

I'm now well into Disk 2 and this series has turned into something very special indeed!

    Series 1 is :smashin:

I watched it in a weekend. I shall watch it again but after watching both series just once, my feeling is that series 1 was better than 2.

I haven't bought this as I don't think it has much replay value for me, but I was looking at the packaging and noticed that the total runtime for Season 1 was 30mins longer than Season 2.

Might be just a misprint I guess, but I thought it was weird. Something like 1044 mins S1, 1013 mins S2...

The problem was that they used the us mastered version which was - wait for it - 90 SECONDS SHORTER!!!!!!! A WHOLE 90 SECONDS!!! across 6 hours thats something like 0.05% (Please note this figure is completely made up) of the total running time!

    hardly worth woring about IMO.

Yeah, but as far as I recall, that 90 seconds or whatever contained some fairly major plot points that the Americans did not have in their version.

I liked the first series, it was fairly good, but the second was dreadfull. It jumped the shark when oops.

**SPOILER REMOVED** I think dreadful is a bit strong.

It's surely still the best TV drama out there at the moment.

Just started watching S2 and they still have the same annoying (well to me anyway) problem as S1 disks.

Instead of like the BBC2 transmission where the advert breaks have been seamlessly removed, on the DVDs you get the clock ticking, then a black screen and a pause, then the clock ticking again and the scenes start.

For some reason the first episode of season 2 is as BBC2 and doesnt have this annoying problem episode 2 onwards does.

But on the plus side it has got 5.1 sound which I wasn't expecting!

By saying who the character are in season 2 you are giving away who does not die in season one. This is one series above all that such thing should be kept secret, especially when some people have not seen it and are looking forward to it on DVD.:lesson: :nono:

Although I have not started watching them from the start, I did re-watch the very final episode and thought it was very sloppy of them to have that gap, They do not have a great big blank on other DVD’s of TV programs.
