I have 10 mouth old 21inch Sony TV KV21LS30, I have noticed a small black dot (dead phosphorus) on the screen in the middle to the left, the mark is always there no matter which picture source is on. Is there a way to get rid of it, is it a sign that CRT is failing.

Most likely a defect in the phosphor coating.

As it's only 10 months old, I would get in touch with your retailer as soon as possible.

I don't know. I guess they would try to repair it in the first instance but I'm not sure what that repair would involve or whether it would be practical so you may end up with a new TV.

Definitely get in touch - don't put up with that dot!

When you get a good one its great. Good picture on the flatscreen and sound is good. But am on my 3rd set. The first one I had the picture was slighting to the left and the TV option to twist the picture could not correct it. Then second one had a sound fault every time I changed channel the sound would go very low and then take a minute to build up to the level I had set the TV on. Now on my third one with this black spot, am tempted to stick will this one as I dread to think what fault another one could have. Its put me off Sony for good.

I've had them come out to weld the soldering pannels on my Sony 29" TV and they did a good job of it.

Also they repaid my old JVC VCR once when a Circuit protector broke.

In general they should be ok
