    Current Rumours:
    • Three iPhones expected, two OLED and one LCD
    • OLED iPhones will be 5.8 and 6.5 inches
    • LCD iPhone will feature 6.1-inch display and lower price tag
    • All iPhones to feature Face ID and edge-to-edge display
    • A12 Processors
    • Faster LTE
Don’t think I’d want to return to a Plus size phone so may just stick with my X. May depend if the increments in the 5.8 are sufficient to tempt me, assuming the usual camera and processor bumps.
It will also depend on what the trade in price is on my 256GB X, some suggestion that the 2018 5.8 might get a price drop although unlikely it will be major so to avoid affecting sales of the rumoured “budget” LCD phone.

    What are your plans ?

I’m like you, don’t think I could go back to a plus sized phone, the X has the perfect balance between physical size and screen size. Probably won’t be a great deal of difference between the 2017 and 2018 5.8 inch oled iPhones either.

I really like the size of my X. It does everything for me. I’ll probably just keep it.

I expect this year is going to be all about large screens.

Due to the ridiculous cost of the X I will keep mine for a minimum of 3 years hopefully 4. Got 3 years out of the 6 so it should be possible.

For me, the 6.1-inch display would be perfect: smaller than my 6 Plus but a bigger screen. It should be iPhone 8 Plus money, from £799.

I’m perfectly happy with my X. Can’t see a need to change it, well that is until I change my mind at the announcements :)

Although I’d love a 5-5.5” 16:9 ratio screen with no bezels, I know I’ll be disappointed. I don’t really want a large phone again as last year I went from a 6S Plus to 8 Plus, found it too heavy and settled for the 8. I did try the X for a couple of weeks, but didn’t like OLED or the long narrow screen, loved FaceID & gestures though. It will come down to availability of the rumoured dual SIM option, I’ll get whichever phone has this to save me carrying, updating, charging 2 phones all the time.

i got an email through at work offering me work discount on various things, and within the email it mentions that the latest set of iphones is due to be announced on September 12th - no idea where they have got this from, but is that fact or fiction?

Well I had an iPhone X on release day and sold it a few weeks later and went back to an iPhone 7 Plus.

I’ll be getting an IPhone XS Max this year though.

I'll be going for the iPhone X Max/S/Plus or whatever it's going to be called. I like my X but I miss the size of the Plus

My iPhone has gone Pete Tong, so I'm gonna have to get a replacement. And before anyone suggests it, the replacement has got to be an iPhone for various reasons, primarily is I know how to use these ones

I'm led to believe there are going to be some new model iPhones realised this 12th September. I've never bought a new iPhone before, always relying on cast offs from my family, this ain't gonna happen this time.

My question is, will the release of these new models, reduce the price of the existing ones, my likely intended purchase?

I’m hoping the cheaper model is affordable, I’m still on an iPhone 7! If not the Samsung Galaxy S9 is looking tempting.

One rumour states it was $649 and now that rumour has been squashed and it’s now $849 for the base cheaper model

So, the equivalent of the iPhone 8 Plus is going up from $699 to $849?

I think Apple would have a massive backlash. Also, if the price of the 5.8 inch iPhone XS is still $999, why would people bother with a cheaper model? It doesn’t add up.

I water damaged my iPhone 6S and am long due an upgrade! How do you think the new phones released tomorrow will impact the prices of the iPhone 8 and iPhone X second hand?
What would be a good price to pay?
Personally I prefer Touch ID than Face ID so not a fan on the newer iPhones.

I like my iPhone X and I really love Face ID. I find Face ID works really well for me. Only time it doesn’t work is when I accidentally forget to look at it.

My only complaint really is that the 5.8” screen is a bit too small for me. Previously I had a iPhone 7 Plus. But don’t think I’ll be able to afford the enormous cost of the new XS Max. I’m sure it will be more than the current X. Apple not likely to reduce prices are they

If that price turns out to be true, it’s a little surprising. A newer, bigger iPhone with double the storage for only £50 more (than the current 256gb X) seems very un Apple like!
