I've got my 2011 running through a set of Kef Eggs. i'm very happy on the whole, but whenever i make a change to the function (ie changing input source, changing analogue or digi input, changing SB rear setting, or just muting) i get a hell of a thump through the sub.

For info, the amp is set to 80Hz crossover, The sub itself has input level set to about half. Connected via a 3m ixos sub cable. The sub sits about a meter away from the amp.

is this normal operation? has anyone else experienced it? is my unit faulty? is my sub faulty?

    thanks in advance.

Mods - couldn't decide whether to put this with amps or speakers, if it's in the wrong place please move it.

No thump here, ever. Only sound I get is a click from the amp when I change some sources or turn it on/off

My 2011 doesn't make a thud but unfortunately does sound very much like the problem I had with my previous amp,a Denon A1D which was caused by the muting transistor(s).

These were (I suspect) damaged by disconnecting the sub interconnect whilst the A1D was powered on. Denon repaired free of charge (other than my carriage cost to them).

Since that experience I always power off before tampering (ie as per the intruction booklet !) - it only has to happen once and you don't forget. Hope you get it fixed quickly - it's not easy to live with.
