I've got a new PW7 and I want to be diligent about this 200 hour running in period, but I don't want to wait 2-3 months to achieve it.

So, I just want to leave the plasma on to run in for 8.333 days solid and get the 200 hours out of the way so that I can stop worrying about it. Anyone tried this approach? Any suggestions on the best way to do it? Happy to do it via Sky or DVD - I guess Sky would be pref if I can find a suitable 24x7 channel with no logos...

I did this with all settings turned down and a fan running behind just for good measure, felt strange not coming home to a picture when I'd run it in.

sldt - what source material did you run? does it even matter? i'm thinking that it needs to be something with a constantly changing screen image and no static logos, etc?

On another link someone mentioned using Toy Story on a repeated loop with the settings at -10 with good results.

You've no need to get so hung up on running in, If you are contemplating ISF you need to leave it that long, other than that just take it out of dynamic mode, and set everything at zero, and enjoy. I used to turn them right down, but they are so tough now I don't think you have anything to worry about.

    whats the big deal here??

I ran mine in over christmas, in Cinema (and occasionally dynamic!! ), all settings @ 50% and to be honest it didnt bother me at all.

In fact Ive just checked it and DVD, AV and DVB are all still set on cinema @ 50% and I get an awesome picture on all accounts  .

Set it & leave it :hiya:
