Where were the on screen subtitles for the alien charactors? Yes I know if I turned the subs on for the whole film they're apparrent, but shouldn't there be burnt in ones, co's I don't know about you, but I don't speak very good Geonosian or Mallisterian.

Also, what up with GL's kneck? Like attack of the designer double chin? Is he ill? Also it looks like Rick McCallum has one too (and a serious weight increase). Is it something to do with working on Star Wars too long. The crew all start to slowly mutate into Lucas clones?

Subtitles played fine on mine where required. They are not burnt in because the transfer has arisen from the original digital master which won't have burnt in anything on it. The release versions will have had it added in whatever particular language is required. The film version again will be written to neg without any burned in subs and they will have been added to the prints.

Similarly these days for features actually shot on film the master neg is normally telecined to a variety of formats ( HD , Digital exhibition, video res mutliple aspect ratio types can happen all in one pass of the neg throught the telecine: normally a spirit... shame about the edge enhancement) as a result subs are added later and generated by the player itself in most cases.

Looks like it. He made EM grow a beard too. EM said GL thought OB1 should have a beard on the grounds that they are distinguished - GL's perception being skewed by the fact that he has a beard of course!

SHouldn't this be moved to the Star Wars subforum?

The subtitles played OK on my player, but just so you can watch the film and understand the aliens, choosing subtitle track English 2 with the subtitle button on your remote should do the trick. Let me know how you get on.

I didn't know that. We have a lot of diabetes in the family - there is an experimental cure, but it is very expensive - I wonder if he will try it?

I'm diabetic and I know that injecting insulin can cause you to put on weight if your level of control isn't too good - but what's going on with GL's chin ?? Definitely looks like there's something not right there !!
