Would two SVS PC Ultras equal or better the performance of one PB2 Ultra?

The reason I ask is that I may buy another PC Ultra for the home cinema room when it is completed, or would I be better off selling the PCU and getting one PB2 Ultra?

I love the PCU, don't get me wrong, I'm just wondering if two would be as good as a PB2 Ultra or maybe even better?

    Personally, I'd go for 2 PCU's.

I used to use 2 x KEF 45B subs. They're not as deep, controlled or powerful as my PC Ultra, but there is something 'right' about having left & right subs and I do miss it a bit. I may consider a second myself!

Also, I believe most future AV amps will have 'stereo' subwoofer pre-outs (like the Yamaha DSP-Z9 does already) and you know you'll want to make full use of that facility.
So why not buy an 'identical twin' sub now before the range is discontinued.

Hang on a minute, I think I've just talked myself into spending another £750. :)

    Email SVS.

The two will give you more flexibility and hopefully a less localised bass distribution. Performance wise I imagine it would be very close (more enclosure space with the 2 Ultras, similar power 1000W vs 2 x 525W) so it comes down to looks. Would you prefer two ugly cylinders or a nicely finished wooden box?

If you ever plan to move the sub you would be very glad of the 2 Ultras, at 85 kg the PB2 Ultra is a monster.

He didn't suggest two ugly cylinders, he suggested a pair of PC Ultra's :D

Some people (including my wife) prefer the cylinder subs to having a shiny wooden coffin in the room.

Indeed, my wife actually LIKES the look of the PC Ultra, which can only be a GOOD thing :D

    Any other thoughts?

I'm inclined to go for another PCU.

I would agree with Daneel that Tom V is the best person to ask
