If I was to have two Rel Q200's would this give a better sound/more bass than one larger Rel Sub???

Two subs are better than one and will give a better spread of bass.

Have a look at what they say on the Rel website about using two subs.

Two subs are better than one, I have two Strata III, but I think one Strata III will sound better than two Q200, later you can buy the second Strata III...

Agreed, I bought a Rel Storm quite a while ago and it was brilliant on it's own, Just got my hands on a second Rel Storm to add to the system, and all I can say is WOW!

For the start get one great Sub, strata storm etc. Then when funds allow, get a second.

Thanks guys, I've had a listen to a Q200 and a Strata 3 and personally preferred the Q200. Thought it was tighter and a deeper rumble.

What does every one else think between the two??

The most important is to pick what you like, of course...

Are you sure both where set correctly, maybe the Q200 had SLAM on, that is artificialy increasing the level of some frequencies...

Q200 didn't have a slam setting that I could see. Just four modes 2 phase reversal and 2 with or without LPF on or off.

The two models are both using 10" subs, 1 uses 100watt amp and the other 200w. One uses a larger box.

Still trying to see where Rel position these 2 subs as they are roughly in the same price bracket.

I made both subs crossover at about 30hz, very low, and both reproduced accurate sounds but, on some rapid machine gun fire I thought the Q200 gave more punch. Also with a 200 watt supply it seemed to give a better low down thump.

Is the 400 just a louder version of the 200!!

I'm wondering how all you guys with so much bass really get to use it. When I put the 200 through it's paces I only ever had volume on half.

Doesn't to much bass actually give a sound that is too loud, I'm sure when a insect jumps accross the screen you don't want a landing like a bomb going off.

The difference between the Strata and the Q200 is not more bass, but better bass, and two subs also improve the quality, less traveling of the drivers, better dispersion, and added woomp, of course...
