Don't know what every one did for this, but I stood on a main street in Soho london, and everything ground to a hault!

I could see shaftsbury ave. and it was like a still image!!!

All the thoughts with the people affected by last week.

    Gareth.

Wish I could say the same. 60 odd member of the company file out, begin the silence. Southwark bin lorry comes round the corner and proceedes to load bins for the entire 2 minutes with no effort at silence at all. I think (for all the good it will do) I will send a quick email to the council to point this out.

I agree... That is not only disrespecting those who we all thought of, but disrespecting directly the many standing on the street trying to pay their respects!

There where one or two people who still walked along the road...

    Attention seekers

Our school observed the silence - over 1000 silent students aged 11-16 - amazing really.

Pretty much everyone left the office and stood by the street. Looked similar with all the other offices. Some police cars and buses stopped which meant all other cars and bikes stopped too.
Was the quietest I've ever heard London. All you could hear were a few birds in the trees.

    Hi,

Even though I was using my university's computers, I still observed the two minute silence on my own. It was better than nothing, and at least I can say I did something to honor those who were taken away by the four, selfish Leeds extremist bastards!

I left my computer logged in whilst I was observing it so I'm not sure how effective it would be.

Was amazed that even here in north oxon it was done by so many, everyone seemed to come out on to the street. My thoughts and best heartfelt wishes to those that lost their lives and those injured and to all those affected in some way.

I was in Albert Square, Manchester outside the MCR City Town Hall where they had an 'organised event, press and all.

Very moving it was too and eerie for Manchester city centre to be so quiet!

We stood outside our offices in Bedford. It's next to a busy road, and the traffic didn't stop. The only real disrespect was from 2 chavs in a modded Escort with more bass boxes than brain cells - never before in my life has heavy bass been so annoying!
