2 HD boxes 1 TV

OK here goes. A few facts and then questions.

I have an old Thompson Sky Hd Box.

I have A Multiroom Subscription, (SKY +, knackered, but 2nd TV knackered as well).

Capabilities of running extra cables to the TV in the Lounge.

I will be phoning sky to get a new box, before Xmas, (haven't decided yet wether to go for a free box, or to see if I can get 1TB for £149). And will probably get the HD upgrade for the Multiroom.

Now for the questions.....

If I keep both boxes in the lounge will I be able to control each box separately, or will one remote control both boxes?

I am hoping I will be able to contol them separately.

Will a universal remote, say the Harmony 900, (which I'm also hoping to get before Xmas), be able to distinguish between the 2 boxes?

Thanks
