Looking for a 2.35:1 screen, ordinary matt white, preferably electric but will consider fixed (would have to be ceiling-mounted regardless), but having trouble finding one that's around 6-feet wide and IR-controllable.

Local dealer to me says nothing under 9-feet wide!

    Any recommendations, please?

Depends on your budget. Assuming you have sufficient funds then try Stewart Screens

Alas, those ones are RF not IR controllable (I need IR for my Harmony remote setup). But thanks.

Define "sufficient" for Stewart screens.;) I'm happy to go up to £2-3k if need be.

That's within your range then. My Stewart screen is anamorphic, is 9ft 9" diagonal, is 9ft wide and cost around 2k

    HI,

Have a look at Saphire Projector screens. Just brought one myself and am very happy with the product and the service.
    Electric Projection Screens 16by9

    Good luck

Euroscreen have 170 and 190cm visible width 2.35:1 screens listed as standard models in their price list for the Linea casing.

Thanks, but those are 16:9 - I don't see any 2.35:1 screens there.

    Thanks, that looks promising!

Bear in mind Linea casing makes screen quite a bit more expensive that Diplomat. Maybe see if they have available Diplomat in the size you want as a special order.

For what it is worth, I think fixed screens are much better than electric. If you can think of a way to use a fixed screen (move TV instead of screen, for example) you should consider it.

Thanks, yeah I'm starting to reconsider after looking at the relatively-inexpensive (by comparison) cost of 6-foot wide fixed-frame 2.35:1 screens. I'm also slightly worried about the artexed ceiling in our cinema room, as artex can hide all sorts of issues and the previous owner of our house was one for hiding problems away!

The screen area is a bay window (it'll have blackout blinds soon, currently some white blackout cloth is serving a dual purpose as a screen). I'm now thinking that maybe a fixed frame on stands, positioned in the bay but not right up against the window as it's a bit far away from the seating position, might be a better way forward.
