Fair enough, I have a subwoofer for sale too, if you wanted to better your bass output? Next best thing to towers.

    Hi

I am interested in the 685.

What is the best price you can do? I would pay you a bit extra for delivery as I am in York

    Cheers

What's your best offer, mate. And given your name you'll love them! Also, I might {emphasis on might} be in York visiting a mate in the coming couple of weeks, but failing that could look into delivery.

The BK P12300SB FF. 'Tis a beast, the Earth would move... and this is coming from someone who has had dual SVS SB13 Ultras.

BK subs are awesome. The other I have is a BK Monolith, which is good for music too, but with the port is twice the size {doubles as a table, so long as you don't value whatever you place on top of it}, but makes it excellent for movies. Both are great, but depends on what your main use is?

To update the thread the seller has contacted me to say a plinth is missing. Apparently Audio T said they would find it when the seller bought them ex demo and the seller thought he had it but no.
I have proposed to pay the seller 450 upfront with the remaining 50 upon receipt of both plinths as advertised. The seller says audio t definately owe him a plinth so shoukd be ok? however The seller is now indicating that this isnt acceptable even though im still honouring my 500 offer for the 683s with both plinths as advertised. He is contacting audio t tmrw and hopefully the seller will come through and accept the proposal which is still 500 with 50 offset until plinth is supplied.

Yes, you're wrong, and I don't appreciate being made out to be a liar either, mate. Why do you suspect it won't be forthcoming? I had no idea it was missing until tonight. As I said over our phone conversation I was just happy and excited to have the 683's back, and didn't worry too much about a plinth that I thought had been found.

Alrighty, cost me £315 "new", and I use " " since it was one of those colossusxb deals on eBay where's there's apparantly a blemish somewhere, ... which I've totally yet to find, unless dust counts?

So I'm up for offers. I actually advertised it on here a while back, the post might still be active somewhere.

Also, are you able to collect, 'cause this sucker weighs about 20KG, so postage would re~sink the Titanic!

In fact, I see you're in London, so maybe we could look into postage, unless you love long distance driving? Haha.

Sorry if you felt offended not my intention and have removed the speculation :) but you did indicate by phone conversation that you would rather keep the speakers when i proposed the compromise deal which was still 500 with 50 offset until plinth arrives which i didnt understand. If a plinth is owed from audio t it shouldnt be a problem ? Just dont want to pay in full then be chasing a missing plinth for months ;)
Let me know what audio t says today and whether or not we are proceeding tonight. Im happy to go ahead as discussed with the plinth being supplied later and a final psyment of 50 :)

    Okay, and I quote...

    "Hi Paul,

Sorry about that, receipt attached. We have also located the missing plinth only moments after ordering a replacement! We've just got to wait for the bolts to arrive from B&W now and we can send it on to the new owner.

Once they arrive, I'll let you know and you cn then give me the delivery address.

    See you soon,

    Mike"

... That forthcoming enough for ya?

Well, it's a bit far, however I'll see if work needs anything brought down from one of our Manchester locations. If that doesn't work out, do you have a box for it?

Yes, mate. It's the standard "no frills" box it came with, much like BK themselves; s'all about the bass, the bass, the bass, no whistles!

Do you use PayPal, or would you trust one of your drivers to carry the cash for you, unless you are the wheelman?

The price is fine, just need to hear back from my mate first to see if I'm going to his or he may be coming to me for ComicCon in Manc.

If he comes to me I could always get him to take them back to York with him, for you to collect from him?

Richard, the other guy wasn't happy with the 683's, so due to time wasted they're yours if you can collect? Apparently sounded "too muddy" for him. Still sound amazing to me, but you're welcome to decide?

I'll pass on them, the subwoofer is a better idea for me (I've already got a pair of bookshelves to pair it with). Thanks for the offer though. Will let you know when I hear back from work

For transparency there were 2 reasons why i didnt purchase them. Nothing to do with time wasting! Firstly one speaker has an obvious chip on the top front baffle edge that wasnt mentioned. Saw it straight away and wasnt impressed. Secondly imho one speakers treble unit sounded less clear than the other. After some close listening it made that speaker sound less open and less clean with a strained tone to vocals. Similar to the sound of an overdriven tweeter by a low powered amp. They were being demoed of a low powered denon mini system and the seller kept saying to me how loud and powerful they were prior to pickup. They were ex demo so no idea how they were treated and the seller is selling after very short ownership. So putting 2 and 2 together i felt that they had been played at high level and possibly damaged one tweeter making it sound strained and less clear.Tried several different tracks but this chatacteristic remained so agreed to not conclude the deal. Was this just a set up issue? maybe but didnt have the opportunity to swap the speakers over left to right to check if it was in the source. Wasnt going to mention all this to avoid spoiling the sellers thread but have no choice now after being labelled a timewaster. Up to the next buyer to decide for themselves. The chip is undisputable, the tweeter issue was present to me but could be a system issue but not a risk i was prepared to take. Sorry for being honest but definitely not a time waster!
