1in to 2out Component lead/box

Hi folks,

Been having some problems connecting various parts of my AV system which is complicated by different sources and display devices and an Amp which has no HDMI connectivity (Denon AVC-A1SE).

Won't go into all the options and problems but suffice to say is I'm looking for a 1in to 2out Component lead/box which would sort my problem.

I've seen one here:-
http://www.js-technology.com/product_info.php?products_id=50&osCsid=04eb65cd7e27d3871cfce3e2cacdca77
but it's a bit more than I wanted to spend at £50 (not sure if it includes postage) and wondered if anybody had any other options or experience of other devices?

Thanks

You may find cheaper solutions elsewhere but they will not give the same quality.

You obviously have a decent system given the AVC-A1SE why compromise the quality for a saving of £20 or so at best?

I would agree with Mark - that's not a high price for a quality solution.
Paras option MIGHT work, but will probably result in incorrect video levels, reflections etc as you will have an impedance mismatch.

Those y splitters can work for audio which is low into high impedance but not really suited for 75 ohm video signals.

Yeah, good chance you're right guys and I wouldn't be prepared to accept loss in quality. However, wanted to see if there were other cheaper options? I've tested £70 1m phono cables before and found them no better than my £10-20 ones.

That said, I don't think I would go down the Y-piece route to be honest, I remember how bad the old coax aerial splitters used to be :)

Do you think either of these options would be worth a try or do you think they too are just like the Y-piece splitter?

All this just because my blooming PS3 Blue-Ray player can't output both HDMI and Component at the same time giving me all sorts of head-aches!!!

They are both just passive Y splitters dressed up a little differently.

I wouldn't regard either as a good solution but at that price you could try one and see if you can live with it.
