Trying to remember the name of this TV show that was broadcast sometime in the early 1980s on BBC. It used to be on post-watershed and was titled something like "lucky jim and the <something> club". If I recall correctly it was set in the 1950s.

... or did i just dream it ?

Hope you've read the book, which in my view is the funniest ever written.

Thanks TonyA but that's not it. I think I've possibly completely got the title wrong.
I think that "sunshine club" is part of the title.

It's really infuriating... I can almost remember the title graphic and for some reason I imagined that Paul Shane was in it but he definitely wasn't (bit of Googling cleared that up).

If it helps.. they said "bugger me" a lot.... definitely set in the 50s though. Post-war time of innocence.

I might just have to go page-by-page through the BBC website....

The only thing I can think of that had "shine" in the title, and was set post-war/1950's was the ITV drama-comedy "Shine On Harvey Moon".

Was also a 1957 movie starring Ian Carmichael.
