    Hurrah,

Some of the best no-brainer TV shows ever created during the 1980's, are being released on to DVD during April and May, courtest of Universal's "Playback" label.

In April, there should be DVD's of the following:

    1) The A-Team
    2) Airwolf (My personal fave!)
    3) Magnum P.I.
    4) Miamai Vice

However, don't blame me if said DVD's don't actually materialise (for £15-99 each), as this is R2 after all ;-)

Can't wait to see Airwolf on DVD! Stringfellow Hawke, Dominic Santini, Mariela, and the bizarrely named Michael Goldsmith Briggs III. Oh yes!! And letus not forget THAT theme tune... altogether now...

    duh, duh-duh-duh-duh, duh-duh-duh-duh, duh-duh-duh-duh, duh de-duh, duh, de-duh, duh, duh-de-duh, de-duh.

(I even remember running to get home to watch this on ITV, when they used to show it on Saturday lunchtimes at 1:20pm, after "Saint & Greavesie"! Talk about fondly-remembered!)

I was looking forward to some of these discs (though I confess my preference is for the 70's and 'Columbo'). It's a shame they've choses 'random' episodes though, rather than release them in chronological order.

    Check out the website.

There is also a 'contact' address (communicate@unistudios.com) for "suggestions & feedback"

    Isn't it like this?:

    duh, duh-duh-duh-duh, duh-duh-duh-duh, duh-duh-duh-duh, duh de-duh, duh, duh, de-duh, de-duh, duh-duh-duh-duh, duh-duh-duh-duh, (high)DUH-DUH-DUH-DUH.

    Hmmmm, could be wrong!?!!?

Worth getting the DVD just to check that [IMG]

Play stocking all titles at £9.99 and running time is anywhere between 2 to 3 hours per disc - other titles include incredible hulk and six million dollar man but what about wonder woman, ty hooker, street hawk, hawaii 5-0, blake 7, professionals, etc.

    Hi,

Well, I am disappointed with Universal's decision to release only some episodes of these shows!

It's impossible to collect any series in one format, and obtain all the episodes, with the exception of "Xena" and "Hercules" on VHS. Every other show, has randomly selected episodes, released in the wrong seasonal order, and different episodes on different formats.

An example - Airwolf and Miami Vice.

    VHS - Airwolf
    Volume 1 - PIlot Movie
    Volume 2 - 3 x random episodes from Season 1
    DVD - Airwolf
    Volume 1 - Season 1, Episodes 1, 2 & 3
(Why no Pilot Movie for the DVD edition?!)

    VHS - Miami Vice
    Volume 1 - Pilot Movie (Season 1, Episodes 1 & 2)
    Volume 2 - 2 x random episodes from Season 1
DVD - Pilot Movie (as for VHS Volume 1) and then two different Season 1 episodes (Golden Triangle Parts 1 & 2)

It is so frustrating to know that unless Universal start changing the way they release these shows, people like myself are simply not going to spend money to pay for part-seasons or random episodes! It's not far! Technically, they're misleading the public into thinking that you will be able to buy all episodes, from all seasons of your fave show, ala "Xena" and "Hercules", but that most definitely isn't the case!!!!

    Very stupid!

Also, whose dumb brain idea was it to label their "Xena" and "Hercules" releases with numbers like 3.41 or 2.25 to denote the Season and Episode Number?! Without effort, it doesn't make any sense! Surely it would be far easier and simpler for everyone, to simply label them as Volume 01 or Episodes 1.01-1.03 (Season 1, episodes 1, 2 and 3)?!

I have e-mailed them, and look forward to their reply. When I get it, I will post their response on here!

    A very disappointed, Pooch

I would be gagging for the first series or so of The Dukes of Hazzard - the car crashes were pretty good, but in later series, (like Knight Rider did) they started using models instead of real cars....boo!

    Definitely, Confucious!

When I look back at the wanton destruction of all those beautiful muscle cars, it nearly makes me weep (nearly). I cheer myself up with a quick game of Gran Turismo 2 and my garage full of 60/70's muscle cars (what a sad git eh?)

I'm hoping the next GT (or maybe 4) has some beefy bass sounds to go with those tyre smokers.

    Confucious,

The guy you are referring to was known as "Archangel". His character's real name was Michael Goldsmith-Briggs III !!!!

Loved the cane and eye-patch he had :)

    Confucious,

I was desperately hoping that some of that American iron would make it into GT3 - doesn't look that way though - hopefully in GT4 (about 2 years' time???).

To everyone else - sorry to wander off topic.
