going off of what i have seen resolution of that spec is totally wasted on a screen of that size, 720 to my eyes gives just as good an image, I think 1080 is only required for projectors that can display a 6ft and up picture. But that is only my opinion.

Maybe never for plasma, it's currently not technically feasible I gather, the pixel pitch is just too small.

Am I right in saying that there is a new JVC 46" LCD/Plasma sue in the Winter with 1920 X 1080? Can't remember the model number at the mo. Will be pricey though I expect for a while to come. Also, possibility that the next generation 50" Pioneer Plasmas may be this resolution..

I couldn't say you are wrong, but JVC don't make glass, so it's unlikely they will be the 1st, whoever makes the glass gets 1st bite of the cherry. Pioneer, if it's true they have not told me yet, maybe Joe knows, but is not saying. No 42" though, the technology to produce them does not yet exist,

Don't forget the Sharp Aquos LC-45GD1e is a new 45" LCD that does 1920x1080. It's about £5k, though.
