Probably the wrong Forum for PC monitors, but I would choose the Viewsonic out of the 2, simply because the Viewsonic had both D-Sub (horrible Analogue) and DVI (Glorious Digital) most people run there LCD monitors through analogue D-Subs, I have a 19" & 17" LCD's and have tried the DVI adn D-Sub on both, and believe me once you see the difference, theres no going back.

Without a doubt get the Viewsonic VX912.

I got one after a lot of research and just over a month ago and paid 360 notes. Even at that price it was worth it as the picture quality is the best I have seen from a TFT LCD. Pin sharp detail, amazing colour, excellent blacks and no 'ghosting' from any games or DVDs I have played on it. Got mine from lowestonweb who now have it for 299 delivered, no dead pixels either.

One of my better purchases - go forth and buy...

I have the 17" VP171. Amazing picture. Don't even think about NOT using the DVI, analogue just doesn't cut it.

I use mine for high detail Photoshop work and also playing games like Half Life 2 etc.

Just make sure you graphics card is man enough to drive the high resolution for your applications.. and has DVI out!
