Go here http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/lcd18.html#amo_2d019_2dhy The LG, Sharp and Viewsonic models sport 12-16ms panels in a 19" format, check the 'full specification' for each model for DVI compatibility.
Hi forever Just before Christmas i got the Viewsonic VX910 from MicroDirect. Wanted DVI , 12ms which it has. Most happy with the results for gameing etc. http://www.microdirect.co.uk/ProductInfo.aspx?ProductID=7674&source=PriceRunner There is a thread on the subject a bit earlier if you want to search back a bit. Lot of good comments in it. Cheers Panic
I do beg your pardon. I originally was going to buy the VX910 when the VX912 arrived in stock so i went for that instead. Sorry. http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=164777 I think this is the link to the previous thread on the subject.
no worries mate! I've been reading all the different opinions on that thread you mentioned and now i'm in limbo again!! a couple of people there are just not convinced by them although this new viewsonic sounds very good. i'm a web developer who works with graphics quite a lot and i need the colours to be spot on which i guess you'll definitely get with a crt (i did actually buy a 2nd hand 21" silicon graphics screen about 6 months ago which was suuperb - although weighs a frigging tonne!!) back to the drawing board for me then!! its my birthday soon and i may go for this viewsonic mind....
My biggest concern was desk space which is why i went the TFT route but as you said one or two folk wouldn't entertain TFT over CRT at all in that other thread. If ihad a huge desk area i also would probably have gone for a really good CRT but i'm not disappointed with my TFT at all. Good luck with whatever option you go for and have a good New Year.
Any have or have view on Sony SDM HS94PS (19", 12ms response, X-black screen)- newish monitor, bit expensive, but looks great. How would this compare to viewsonic? Ta
Never seen one in operation. The specs look very similar for viewing angle ,contrast the same though the Sony quotes a higher brightness setting which should help a bit. The Sony is slightly larger , probably due to a larger frame and Sony being Sony of course , it's a nice looking monitor. Didn't see this one a month or so back when i was looking but as you say it is more expensive so i personally would probably have stuck with the Viewsonic.
Just, got the vx912 ViewSonic. It's really good, shopped from Hong Kong and shipped withput the DVI cable. Played ET and it was awesome, but needed Gamma pushed up. Still, stops my eyes weeping
Should say, I got it off ebay from a Hong Kong dealer and with shipping cost about the same as best online UK price, but they did have stock, otherwise would have bought online here.
